Save the Children International en Bolivia, according to his 2023 Country Plan, invites to the interested persons who consider that fully meet the following requirements to submit their application for the position of:

NEW BUSINESS  DEVELOPMENT (NBD) MANAGER BOLIVIA COUNTRY OFFICE
(NAT 2)
POSITION BASED IN: LA PAZ, COCHABAMBA OR SANTA CRUZ

1. Role Scope and Purpose

The Business Development Manager depends on the Country Director and works closely with the Program Development Quality Director. One of its main roles is to identify and track donor opportunities and facilitate donor engagement. Also, s/he would assist in the development of fundraising strategies, and coordinate proposal development for strategic funding opportunities. The position requires innovative thinking and creativity to package our program strategies, in ways that attract the right donor support and grow our portfolio effectively. The role works closely with SC Bolivia Country Director, SC Senior Management Team (SMT) SC Members, and the SC Regional Office.

2. Main Purpose:

The NBD Manager will be responsible to prepare project proposals in collaboration with Save the Children Bolivia technical experts, to be technically consistent, relevant to donor requirements and aligned to the strategic plan.

3. Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in social or economic sciences (desirable).
  • University degree in one of the following areas: administration, economy, or any social area with an orientation to humanitarian work.
  • Highly desirable previous work experience in children’s, women’s and/or human rights.
  • Fluency verbal  and writing/editing  in English and Spanish, budget development,  and presentation/communication skills (mandatory)
  • Excellent  coordination  and interpersonal  skills,  with the  ability  to communicate  and negotiate clearly and effectively with corporate or governmental stakeholders at all levels and pull together input from a diverse team.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets.

4.   Experience and skills

  • At least 7 years of labor experience in their professional field
  • At least 5 years of labor experience in development contexts in one or more of the Save the Children´s priority sectors: education, child protection, food security, child poverty, and health and nutrition
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in fundraising, international cooperation, public policies, marketing strategies, and results-based management.
  • More than 2 years on the field in emergency and humanitarian areas.
  • English certification, level B2 or higher
  • Proven networking skills.
  • Experience in solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy-in.
  • Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner.
  • Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies.

5. Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Log Frame and Theory of Change methodologies.
  • Able to work out funding with non-traditional donors (non-OECD countries).
  • Project Management Certifications and experience.

6. Other requirements

  • Availability to travel within and outside the country
