About This Role

The Advocacy and Child Protection Specialist is responsible for the overall design of the strategy and leadership of this area in the country. The Specialist builds and nurtures relationships with national and local policy makers and represents ChildFund in local networks. This Specialist also contributes to raising the profile and visibility of ChildFund regarding advocacy and child protection at the national, regional and international levels. The Specialist contributes to strengthening of partner capacities and provides strategic and technical guidance to ensure a successful implementation of the country strategy. The Specialist may also act as a focal point for in country emergency response.

Required Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree in social, legal and/or development sciences or other related disciplines is required.
• Five or more years of verifiable experience in political advocacy and child protection experience, and preferably also emergency response.
• Demonstrated skills in public policy analysis.
• Proven experience in working with networks and coalitions.
• Experience in the exercise of the defense of human rights. In-depth knowledge of the legal frameworks, situation, mechanisms, problems, and child protection services in the country.
• Experience of working with community-based child protection mechanisms and linkage to national child protection system preferred.
