Assistant for Communication, Promotion and Politics
The Embassy of Sweden in La Paz is looking for a full time Assistant for Communication, Cultural Promotion and Politics. The Embassy constitutes a platform to develop and strengthen relations between Sweden and Bolivia. Our work covers a wide range of issues, from political dialogue, promotion of trade and commerce, cultural exchange activities to development cooperation.
The Embassy consists of 17 members of staff, of which two are diplomatic staff from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and four diplomatic staff from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida.
You will be responsible for the Embassy's communication platforms, organize cultural promotion events and also follow and review political issues. As an employee at the Embassy, you are expected to represent Sweden and Swedish interests.
The position is a full-time permanent position with a six-month probationary period. The Embassy applies individual salary setting. Security clearance is carried out before employment.
The position is at the Embassy of Sweden in La Paz, Avenida Arce #2631, Edificio Multicine. The regular office hours are from 8 am to 5 pm Mondays to Thursdays and 8 am to 1.45 pm on Fridays. Additional work, outside normal office hours, will be required occasionally.
Job description
The duties include for example:
- Responsibility for updating and developing the virtual communication platforms of the Embassy; the website and other social media
- Construct messages and narratives and ensure that the communication tools of the Embassy work effectively
- Plan and implement events promoting Sweden in Bolivia
- Follow and analyse political issues
- Assists in various matters
Qualifications
- Academic Degree in communication, political science or similar.
- Preferably five years of work experience in a relevant field.
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English (advanced language tests will be performed)
- Good communication skills, strategic media management
- Excellent computer skills, in particular as relates to social media, (Facebook, Instagram, X Twitter), HTML based Excel and Word
